The History of BOBA CHiC
From Taichung to the World
BOBA CHiC began in Taichung, Taiwan, with a manufacturing foundation that started long before the brand itself was launched. Over the years, that foundation grew into a bubble tea brand reaching international markets through product development, exhibitions, awards, and retail expansion.
Our manufacturing facility was established in Taichung, Taiwan. Beginning with tea and ingredient production, we gradually expanded into a broader manufacturing system covering raw material development, beverage ingredients, ready-to-drink products, and instant food categories.
BOBA CHiC launched as our own brand, built on the belief that boba represents an important part of Taiwanese food culture. In the same year, our first brand experience store opened in Taichung.
BOBA CHiC made its early appearances at international food exhibitions, drawing interest from buyers across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. A collaboration with Moxy Hotel marked one of the brand’s first notable co-branding milestones.
Our founder was invited to serve as an industry mentor for the AWE women's entrepreneurship program at the American Institute in Taiwan. BOBA CHiC products officially entered the European and North American markets. The American Institute in Taiwan and Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs also invited us to represent Taiwanese food innovation.
BOBA CHiC received three Gold Awards at the TITAN International Business Awards, along with Gold for Best New Product (B2B) and Gold for Company of the Year (Food & Beverage) at the Stevie International Business Awards. Our teas also received the highest 3-Star rating from the iTQi International Taste Institute for the first time.
BOBA CHiC received a second consecutive year of top iTQi recognition, including 3-Star and 2-Star ratings. The Bubble Tea Kit series earned a Stevie Award Bronze in B2B Products, and our product portfolio expanded to 10 series.
The brand strengthened its international exhibition presence through Anuga in Germany, SIAL in France, Expo West in the United States, TuttoFood in Italy, and Food Taipei in Taiwan.
Products officially reached Lidl supermarkets across Sweden, the United Kingdom, and France. BOBA CHiC received Great Taste Awards recognition with both a 2-Star and 1-Star rating. The brand became the only Taiwanese bubble tea brand to have received recognition from all four of the world's top food award programs: iTQi, Great Taste, Monde Selection, and A.A. Taste Award.
Present
Products officially entered Tawa supermarkets in North America, along with retail partners in Dubai and New Zealand. BOBA CHiC entered a new stage of brand development under the direction "Made in Taiwan. Make It Yours.", with a stronger focus on global supermarket retail channels and long-term international market growth.
